Uncle Wiggily And The Shoe Lady

Uncle Wiggily and the Shoe Lady is a short story in which the rabbit gentleman Uncle Wiggily sets off to buy himself a new pair of shoes — only to discover that clever tools can solve surprisingly different problems. When he stumbles upon the famous Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe, he finds her shoe-house packed so full of children that little Toodles, who arrived home late, cannot squeeze inside. With a sprinkle of talcum powder and a shiny shoe-horn fresh from the store, Uncle Wiggily puts his shopping trip to unexpectedly creative use.
