The Worsted Doll | Bedtime Stories

In "The Worsted Doll," dollmaker Jacob and his wife Mother Munster wish for a son, but only have daughters. When Mother Munster knits a special boy doll, Theodor, her wishes accidentally bring him to life. Shipped overseas, Theodor is given to a little girl who makes him the reluctant father of her doll family. Overwhelmed by responsibility and yearning for his creator, Theodor seizes a chance during a trip to Germany to return to Mother Munster. He successfully hides and is eventually found by her, who joyfully welcomes him as the son she always wanted, allowing Theodor to find happiness free from the duties he never desired.
