The Skipping Shoes

The Skipping Shoes is a charming short story about Kitty, a little girl whose favourite words are "I won't" and "I can't" — until a pair of enchanted shoes takes matters into their own hands. On one midsummer day, the shoes whisk her off on errands whether she likes it or not, refusing to budge when she tries to misbehave and carrying her forward whenever she gives in. But as the day unfolds, Kitty begins to discover that running willingly feels very different from being dragged — and the rewards are sweeter than stolen cake.
