Uncle Wiggily And Humpty Dumpty

"Uncle Wiggily and Humpty Dumpty" is a free short story by Howard R. Garis following Uncle Wiggily, a kindly rabbit gentleman, who sets off one afternoon with a jar of glue to mend Nurse Jane's broken teacup. Along the way he encounters Charlie Chick, a distressed young rooster who has accidentally sent a precious egg tumbling off a stone wall. Convinced his glue can fix anything, Uncle Wiggily investigates — only to discover that Humpty Dumpty's "great fall" has produced a far more wonderful result than anyone expected.
