The Tailor Of Gloucester

The Tailor of Gloucester is a Christmas fairy tale about a poor, elderly tailor who cuts a magnificent coat for the Mayor of Gloucester but falls gravely ill before he can finish it — with only one skein of cherry-coloured silk standing between him and ruin. While he lies feverish in bed, the little mice he quietly freed from under teacups work through the night by candlelight, singing and stitching. His cat Simpkin, sulking over a hidden secret, must reckon with his own small act of spite as Christmas morning draws near.
