The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse | Beatrix Potter Stories

"The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse" is a story about a meticulous wood-mouse who takes great pride in keeping her underground home spotless. She encounters various unwanted guests, including beetles, a spider, bumblebees, and the particularly disruptive Mr. Jackson, a toad who leaves a mess wherever he goes. Overwhelmed by the untidiness, Mrs. Tittlemouse undertakes a thorough spring cleaning and then throws a small party, excluding Mr. Jackson. While she offers him treats through the window, she ensures he can no longer enter her home. The story playfully highlights the importance of cleanliness and setting boundaries.
