"The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies" tells of Benjamin Bunny and Flopsy's large, improvident family, who often sneak into Mr. McGregor's garden for food. One day, they eat too much soporific lettuce and fall asleep on a rubbish heap. Mr. McGregor finds them and puts them in a sack. Mrs. Tittlemouse helps Benjamin and Flopsy rescue their children by nibbling a hole in the sack. The bunnies replace themselves with vegetables, and Mr. and Mrs. McGregor are angered to find they have been tricked.
