The Gingerbread Man

The Gingerbread Man is a short story about a freshly baked cookie who leaps from the oven and makes a run for it, leaving a little old couple far behind. With each escape, his confidence grows as he outpaces shredders, lawnmowers, a cow, and a pig — boasting louder with every stride. But when he crosses paths with a fox, quick as lightning, the little man's winning streak meets its match in the most dramatic and darkly funny way possible.
