The Christmas Pie

"The Christmas Pie" is a lively Christmas poem that raises a toast to the beloved mince pie — "the pie of Old Christmas" — praising its rich filling of beef, currants, nutmeg, and spice. From the humblest cottage to the grandest table, the mince pie reigns supreme over every rival festive treat. The poem ends with a heartfelt hope for England's prosperity, weaving seasonal joy together with a quiet wish for better times ahead.
