The Finding of the Treasure

"The Finding of the Treasure" is a Christmas story set in a bleak mining camp where men face ruin and families face starvation. Young Carl keeps hope alive among the children, spinning tales of shepherds, angels, and a guiding star — and promising that the Christ Child will come to them too. When a light appears in the old stable on Christmas Eve and a newborn baby is found in the manger, something shifts in the hearts of even the most hardened miners, just as news arrives that gold has finally been discovered in the mine.
