Christmasland

Christmasland opens with young Werner, a poor widow's son who becomes obsessed with finding the mythical workshop behind the forest where Christmas itself is made. One winter morning, a titmouse he once saved leads him through a hidden door in a mountain wall into a realm of sugar quarries, chocolate mines, and halls overflowing with soldiers and dolls. Guided by the radiant, crown-wearing Goldflame, Werner feasts on marzipan sausages and watches toy armies parade—but his adventure ends more mysteriously than he could have anticipated, with consequences that reach far beyond the forest.
