The Peace Egg unfolds on a bittersweet Christmas Eve, as a Captain and his wife sit sadly by the fire — separated for years from her stubborn father, who has never forgiven her marriage. When their five children slip out into the frosty night to perform a traditional Christmas mumming play as real mummers, they unwittingly knock on the old man's door. Bold Robin, curious Nicholas, and gentle Dora bring laughter, swords, and a small pug dog named Pax — and crack open a heart that letters and pleas never could.
