Trouble When One’s Young

"Trouble When One's Young" is a Brazilian fairy tale following Clarinha, a beautiful maiden betrothed to a prince she has never met. When an eagle poses her a fateful question — whether she'd prefer hardship young or old — her mother's advice sets off a chain of misfortunes: stolen from her garden, beaten by a baker, cast into the street, and reduced to tending ducks in a royal palace. Through each loss, an unseen thread connects her to the prince seeking his missing bride.
