The Giant’s Pupil

"The Giant's Pupil" follows Manoel, a poor boy raised without schooling whose only teacher is a lonely giant living at the forest's edge. When a clever princess vows to marry only the man who stumps her with a riddle, Manoel sets off on a journey that turns a poisoned loaf, three dead buzzards, seven robbers, and a sweating horse into one dazzling puzzle. The story builds quiet suspense around whether Manoel's hard-won wisdom can win the heart of a princess who has never met her match.
