The whirlwind

"The Whirlwind" is a Polish fairy tale in which Princess Ladna is snatched from her own wedding by a vengeful dwarf magician disguised as a prince, swept away in a column of wind to a palace beyond inaccessible mountains. Her betrothed, Prince Dobrotek, sets out to rescue her — guided by a speaking skull, armed with an all-cutting sword, and aided by a magical grey horse with a golden mane. The story builds through clever tricks, mythical creatures, and a brutal betrayal that tests whether love and courage can outlast treachery.
