The lad who went to the North Wind
"The Lad Who Went to the North Wind" is a Norwegian fairy tale where a poor widow's son sets off to confront the North Wind after it steals his family's last meal. The North Wind compensates him with three magical gifts — a self-serving cloth, a gold-coining ram, and a very persuasive stick — but a cunning innkeeper swaps each treasure in the night. With each loss, the lad must return and demand his rights, until the third gift gives him the means to settle the score once and for all.
