The straw, the coal and the bean

"The Straw, the Coal and the Bean" is a short fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm following three unlikely companions who each narrowly escape destruction in an old woman's kitchen. Bound together by shared misfortune, the straw, the coal, and the bean set off for a foreign country — only to face their first real test at a small brook with no bridge. What begins as a bold plan quickly unravels in fire, water, and uncontrollable laughter, leaving only one survivor in need of a very particular repair.
