"The Bear in the Forest Hut" is a Polish fairy tale following a gentle girl cast out by her cruel stepmother and left alone in the woods. She finds shelter in a strange hut, where a talking bear sets her a series of impossible tasks — spin, weave, bleach, and sew a shirt by dawn. With quiet determination and an unlikely ally in a small, hungry mouse, she faces a terrifying night of flying stones and darkness. Her stepmother's vain daughter soon attempts the same journey, but kindness and cruelty lead to very different fates.
