The Old Witch

"The Old Witch" is a Brothers Grimm fairy tale following two sisters who leave home to seek their fortunes and end up in service to a mysterious witch. The first girl shows kindness to a tired oven, a waiting cow, and an overburdened apple tree — small acts that prove crucial when she flees the witch's house with a bag of stolen money. Her selfish sister takes the same path but refuses every plea for help, setting herself up for a very different fate.
