The Laidly Worm Of Spindleston Heugh

"The Laidly Worm of Spindleston Heugh" is an English legend retold by Joseph Jacobs in which Princess Margaret is cursed by her jealous witch stepmother and transformed into a monstrous dragon terrorising the Northumberland coast. Only her brother, Childe Wynd, can break the spell — but to reach her he must outwit the queen's dark magic and overcome his own instinct to fight. The story builds tension between sibling loyalty and supernatural menace, as a kiss becomes the only weapon that matters.
