Vasilisa The Beauty

Vasilisa The Beauty is a Russian fairy tale following young Vasilisa, a merchant's daughter left in the care of a cruel stepmother after her mother's death. Her only protection is a magical doll her mother gave her on her deathbed — a secret companion that completes impossible tasks and whispers quiet wisdom. When the stepmother schemes to send Vasilisa into the dark forest to fetch fire from the fearsome Baba Yaga, the girl must face bone-fenced horrors and gruelling trials, with nothing but her courage, her mother's blessing, and a small doll in her pocket.
