The Sea King’s Gift

"The Sea King's Gift" follows Maie, a fisherman's wife living on a tiny rock in the ocean, whose quiet longing for a cow sets in motion a chain of wishes she cannot stop. After hearing tales of Ahti, the sea king who rules over fish and ocean cattle, Maie sings her desires into the deep — and the sea answers. What begins with one magical cow soon grows into an insatiable appetite for cows, servants, grand houses, and status, until Maie pushes her luck too far and throws stones into waters she does not understand.
