The Little Princess and the Poet

The Little Princess and the Poet is a short fairy tale about a wandering poet whose weathered face and truthful verses make him unwelcome everywhere — until he reaches a palace where a blind princess listens not with her eyes but with her heart. While forty-five smooth-faced courtier-poets recite hollow verses, she recognises something real in his voice alone. When the poet learns he can restore her sight with a single kiss, he faces an agonising choice: give her the world she has always longed to see, or keep the only love he has ever known.
