The Master Mariner

The Master Mariner is a fairy tale by Henry Beston following a young fisherman whose life changes the day he saves a strange half-man, half-fish creature from death at sea. Rewarded with a magical silver talisman, the fisherman rises to become a wealthy sea captain — until a chance encounter with a princess in the kingdom of Silkland sets off a chain of danger. A mistaken bag of wind unleashes a catastrophic storm, pirates strike, and both the captain and princess are thrown into desperate peril far from shore.
