The Pumpkin Giant

The Pumpkin Giant is a fairy tale explaining the surprising origin of pumpkins — and pumpkin pie. A terrifying yellow-faced giant with glowing eyes and a mouth stretched half across his face has the kingdom gripped in fear, including the king himself. When a humble potato farmer named Patroclus faces the giant with nothing but a large spud, his accidental bravery sets off a chain of events that transforms his hungry family's fortune — and introduces an entirely new food to the world. The story blends gentle humor with real stakes as a forgotten promise and a curious, hungry boy drive the tale forward.
