Wassailing The Apple-trees

Wassailing The Apple-trees is a short story set in the village of Appleton, where enchanted orchards are said to cure ailments and bring fortune — but only if the ancient wassailing ritual is honoured each winter. Led by the jovial Squire, the whole village parades through frost-bitten trees by starlight, pouring warm spiced brew at each root and singing wishes for a bountiful harvest. Back inside by the crackling Yule Log, the Squire reluctantly becomes a storyteller, weaving tales of magic and daring that hold every soul in the room spellbound.
