A Lonely Christmas is a short story about Eleanor, a imaginative young girl who spends Christmas Eve feeling abandoned after her parents leave without explanation. Alone with their maid Jane, who seems too busy to notice her, Eleanor grows restless and miserable — convinced the most magical night of the year is passing her by. But when Jane produces a beautiful party dress and begins fussing over ribbons in her hair, something strange is clearly afoot. What unfolds challenges everything Eleanor assumed about the people closest to her.
