Jorinde and Joringel

Jorinde and Joringel is a Brothers Grimm fairy tale about a young couple whose walk through a dark forest brings them dangerously close to an old fairy's castle — a place where young men are frozen in place and beautiful girls are transformed into caged birds. When Jorinde suddenly becomes a nightingale and is carried away, Joringel is left helpless and heartbroken. His only hope lies in a mysterious purple flower he glimpses in a dream, and the courage to return and face the fairy alone.
