Tom Tit Tot

"Tom Tit Tot" is an English fairy tale where a girl's lazy secret lands her in a deadly bargain with a mysterious little black creature. Married to a king who demands she spin five skeins of flax each day or face execution, she strikes a desperate deal — the creature will spin for her, but if she cannot guess its name before the month runs out, she belongs to it. As the days dwindle and the imp grows ever more menacing, her one hope arrives from an unexpected direction.
