The Enchanted Elm

The Enchanted Elm is a fairy tale short story in which a prince, cursed by a vengeful witch, is transformed into a giant elm tree after drinking enchanted water in the forest. Trapped and voiceless to humans, he can only wait — until a hardworking girl who finds peace resting beneath his branches unknowingly becomes his last hope. When lumberjacks threaten to fell the tree, she hatches a daring plan that sets events in motion on one fateful midsummer night.
