"The Clock of the Earth and the Sea" is a free online fairy tale following Altair, a sailor's son who sets out to find the world's most beautiful bell for a king's great bell tower. His quest takes him across unknown seas to a distant island of bells — but a jealous rival plots to destroy him on the deadly reefs of the Dangerous Islands. Only a brave fisher girl named Thyrza, rowing alone through a rising storm to strike a silenced warning bell, stands between Altair and shipwreck. After triumph turns to loss, Altair must search the world's coasts for the girl he cannot forget.
