The Water Nymph in the Pond

The Water Nymph in the Pond is a Brothers Grimm fairy tale in which a desperate miller makes a reckless promise to a beautiful nymph rising from the water — and unknowingly surrenders his newborn son. Years later, the nymph collects her debt, dragging the grown son beneath the waves and separating him from his devoted wife. Armed with three golden gifts from a mysterious old woman, the wife embarks on a moon-guided quest to reclaim the husband the water has stolen from her.
