A Christmas Star

A Christmas Star is a short story in which a small golden star, moved by the tale of the Star of Bethlehem, leaves Mother Moon and the sky house to find the one heart it is meant to shine for. Stepping through the mysterious Wonder Entry, it arrives in a toy shop and immediately recognises a quiet little boy named Paul as its own. Hung atop the family Christmas tree, the star blazes with joy — but as Paul falls gravely ill, the distance between the glittering ornament and the child it belongs to grows heartbreakingly small.
