Ozma of Oz (Book #3) | Classic Stories by L. Frank Baum

In L. Frank Baum's Ozma of Oz, Dorothy Gale, traveling to Australia with Uncle Henry, is washed overboard during a storm along with a talking hen named Billina. They land in the magical Land of Ev, encountering the mechanical man Tik-Tok and the vain Princess Langwidere with her collection of exchangeable heads. Soon, Ozma of Oz arrives with familiar friends like the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion on a noble quest to rescue the enslaved Royal Family of Ev from the underground kingdom of the powerful Nome King. The group must face the Nome King's dangerous guessing game, where failure means being transformed into an ornament, relying on Dorothy's courage, Tik-Tok's mechanics, and Billina's unexpected cleverness (discovering the Nomes' fear of eggs) to defeat the villain, restore the royals, and ensure everyone's safe return, ultimately bringing Dorothy back to Oz before she uses the captured Magic Belt to travel home.
