The Eagle and the Jackdaw | Aesop Fables
This fable tells of a Jackdaw who, impressed by an Eagle carrying off a lamb, foolishly attempts to imitate the feat by attacking a much larger Ram. The Jackdaw fails miserably, getting its claws tangled in the wool, and is easily captured by a shepherd who gives it to his children, wryly noting that the bird thinks itself an Eagle. The story serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of overestimating one's own abilities and the folly of trying to be something you're not, teaching children the importance of understanding their own limitations to avoid failure and ridicule.
