The Magic Bonbons

"The Magic Bonbons" is a short story brimming with comic mischief, following Claribel Sudds, a wealthy Boston woman with no talent but grand dreams of stage stardom. After a local chemist crafts her five enchanted bonbons — each granting a different extraordinary skill — the box ends up in the wrong hands entirely. A singing father, a kickboxing mayor, and a ballet-dancing senator later, Boston is in cheerful uproar, while Claribel fumes from the audience, watching strangers accidentally steal her shot at the spotlight.
