Don Quixote (Short Book) | Classic Stories

Judge Parry's adaptation of Don Quixote introduces children to the comical adventures of an elderly Spanish gentleman whose excessive reading of chivalric romances leads him to believe he is a knight-errant. Dubbing himself Don Quixote, he recruits the simple, loyal peasant Sancho Panza as his squire and sets off to right wrongs and achieve glory, armed with rusty armour and boundless, misguided idealism. The story primarily focuses on their humorous misadventures, where Quixote famously mistakes windmills for giants and inns for castles, highlighting the clash between his vivid imagination and stark reality, while also showcasing the enduring, contrasting friendship between the idealistic dreamer and his pragmatic companion.
