The Tell-Tale Goblin | Moral Stories

This story tells of a Little Fairy who secretly meets a River God, against her Queen's rules. A greedy Goblin spies on them, hoping to gain rewards (a red jacket and a silver hat) by telling the Queen. Although bribed with the silver hat for temporary silence, the Goblin ultimately betrays the secret after the Fairy leaves to marry the River God. Instead of rewarding his tale-bearing, the Fairy Queen despises his malicious intent and uses the magical silver hat and the Fairy's abandoned wand to permanently transform the Goblin into a silver thistle, illustrating the negative consequences of spying, breaking promises, and malicious tattling.
