The Story Of Gretchen and the Christmas Surprise

"The Story of Gretchen and the Christmas Surprise" is a short Christmas story about a young German girl who arrives in America just before the holidays to find her world turned upside down. Her father falls gravely ill, her wooden shoes go unfilled night after night, and Gretchen begins to fear that Santa Claus has forgotten her entirely. Then one cold Christmas Eve, she steps outside alone to wait — and a chance encounter between a homesick child and a generous stranger changes everything.
