Batcha and the dragon

"Batcha and the Dragon" is a short story following Batcha, a humble shepherd who follows a procession of snakes into a secret cave filled with gold and a sleeping kingsnake. Trapped inside, he swears a sacred triple oath never to reveal the cave's secret — but when the terrifying Wizard of the Mountain demands the truth, Batcha breaks his vow. The dragon that follows is the kingsnake transformed, furious and bent on punishment, carrying Batcha high above the mountains with no way down.
