The Man in the Moon | L. Frank Baum Stories

Lonely, the Man in the Moon visits Earth, seeking company and Norwich's famous pease porridge. He struggles with reversed temperatures and burns his mouth, leading to his arrest. An astronomer proves his lunar origin and blistered mouth, and the man is sent back to the moon via balloon. Content to stay home, he remains visible in the moon through a telescope.
